Basic Certificate in Catechesis - CCP 201

Class is held one night per week for 14 weeks (6:00-9:10pm).

Cost: $262.50 (effective Fall 2010)

The University of Sacramento rewards students a Basic Certificate in Catechesis upon completion of the CCP 201 course entitled Introduction to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  This 14-week course satisfies the Diocese of Sacramento´s requirements for basic catechist certification.  The course focuses on the four pillars of the Catechism–Creed, Liturgy, Moral Life, Prayer–and emphasizes teaching and passing on these truths to others.  The course also introduces students to the origins and history of the classic catechesis as found in Scripture and the Church Fathers.

The Introduction to the Catechism of the Catholic Church course, CCP 201, is also part of a six-course program for students who opt to continue their journey of faith and obtain their Advanced Certificate in Catechetics. CCP 201 may be taken alone, or as part of this six-course program. For more information on our Advanced Catechist Certificate Program, click here.
