New MA Theology Program
The Master of Arts in
Theology degree program is designed to offer students a rigorous
and engaging study of theology at the graduate level. The
program offers a sound theological and well-rounded approach where students
study foundational theology, Sacred Scripture, christology, ecclesiology, liturgy, and moral
theology. Two courses in philosophy—metaphysics and philosophy of the human
person—provide the philosophical foundation for the advanced study of theology.
All faculty in the theology department hold to the teachings
of the Catholic faith, as guaranteed by the Magisterium of
the Church, ensuring students the opportunity to study this sacred
science in an environment worthy of its subject matter.
While the program does not require
previous coursework in theology, prospective students are strongly encouraged to
begin reading from the recommended reading list, page 19, to
become familiar with the study of theology at the graduate
level.
